Working out of her midtown studio, Kristen creates fun, whimsical and eclectic metal wall art and sculptures.

Kristen Hoard

Kristen has been building her talent and skill with metal sculpture for over twelve years. Her work can be described as organic, abstract, spiritual and feminine with a touch of whimsy. She mainly uses recycled metal including steel, copper and aluminum. Using a plasma cutter and MIG welder she creates her work with a variety of techniques and finishes including solvent dye, acid patinas, resin and powder coating. Inspired by her trips to Burning Man, Kristen continues to explore sculptures that incorporate fire, flames or LED lighting. She has completed several large corporate sculpture pieces in metal that can be seen in office lobbies around the Bay Area and just recently finished a public art sculpture in Midtown Sacramento. This past year she has been taking ceramics classes and adding her new creations to her sculptures.  Her fine art website can be found at

You can see her traveling around to art shows and midtown Sacramento in her Art Truck Babs (Bad Ass Bertha), the wonderful paint job was created by Eric Goodman.
